Privacy policy
What we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to make us stop. Written to be read rather than to satisfy a checklist.
The short version
We collect two kinds of information: what you voluntarily give us through the quote form, and ordinary analytics about how people use the site. If you submit the quote form, we pass your details to one licensed installer near you so they can contact you. We do not sell your information to unrelated third parties or add you to marketing lists you did not ask for.
Who we are
Smart.Homes is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [ADDRESS]. For any privacy question, contact us at privacy@smart.homes.
Information you give us
When you submit the quote form, we collect:
- Your name — so the installer knows who they are contacting.
- Your email address — to confirm your request and follow up.
- Your phone number, if you provide it — installers generally call to confirm details before a visit.
- Your ZIP code — to match you with an installer who covers your area.
- The services you selected — so you are matched with someone who does that work.
- Your consent to be contacted, together with the exact consent wording shown to you and the time you submitted it. We retain this as a record that you agreed.
If you email us directly, we hold that correspondence and any information in it.
Information collected automatically
| What | Why | Tool |
|---|---|---|
| Pages viewed, time on page, referring site | To understand which content is useful | Google Analytics 4 |
| Approximate location (city level) | To understand where our readers are | Google Analytics 4 |

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-2D1GHK0SD4) and Google Ads conversion tracking (AW-936393672). These place cookies and similar identifiers in your browser. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on, and manage ad personalisation through your Google account settings.
Who we share your information with
Installers. When you submit the quote form, we pass your name, contact details, ZIP code and selected services to one licensed installer in our network who covers your area. They contact you directly and become an independent controller of that information, subject to their own privacy policy. We do not run a bidding pool and we do not distribute your details to multiple companies.
Service providers. We use third parties to operate the site and manage enquiries, including a customer relationship management platform (GoHighLevel) that receives and stores form submissions, our hosting provider, and Google for analytics and advertising. These parties process data on our behalf under contract.
Legal requirements. We disclose information where required by law, court order, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
We do not sell your personal information to unrelated third parties, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under US state privacy laws.
How installers may contact you
By ticking the consent box on the quote form, you agree that Smart.Homes and the matched installer may contact you by phone, text message or email at the details you provided — including using automated dialling or pre-recorded messages — about your enquiry. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply.
You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling the caller not to contact you again, or emailing privacy@smart.homes. Withdrawing consent with us does not automatically withdraw it with an installer who has already contacted you — tell them directly as well.
How long we keep information
Quote submissions and the associated consent record are retained for [RETENTION PERIOD, e.g. 3 years] to evidence consent and handle disputes. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics configuration. Email correspondence is retained for as long as needed to resolve the matter and then for a reasonable archival period.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
- Access a copy of that information.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your information, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Opt out of sale or sharing — although as stated, we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any right, email privacy@smart.homes. We will verify your identity before responding, and will respond within the period required by applicable law. You may use an authorised agent where the law permits.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS throughout the site, and form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection to our CRM. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
Third-party links
This site links to retailers and manufacturers, some through affiliate programmes. Once you follow a link you are subject to that site’s privacy policy, not ours. See our affiliate disclosure for how those arrangements work.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date below. Material changes affecting how we use information you already gave us will be communicated directly where we have your contact details.
