Vivint’s outdoor camera is the more capable single device — on-device person detection and autonomous deterrence that acts without you.
Ring’s advantage is range and value. More camera types, better doorbell selection, and a plan that covers unlimited devices at one address for around $20 per month including alarm monitoring.
For one excellent camera at a critical position, Vivint. For covering a whole property affordably, Ring.
Automation: no contest
Vivint is a genuine integration platform. Ring is cameras plus an alarm with Alexa integration.
Ring’s Alexa integration is excellent within Amazon’s world — announcements, Echo Show feeds, voice arming. What it does not do is the cross-device choreography Vivint commissions as standard: arm, lock, close, set back, as one reliable action.
